Growing up in Kerrville, Texas, Tyler was fortunate to call the headwaters of the Guadalupe River home. Some of his earliest memories involve exploring the river, turning over rocks, and chasing fish—experiences that sparked a passion for the outdoors that has shaped his life ever since.
The first time he experienced flats fishing, he was completely hooked. After spending a month in the Florida Keys, he knew he had found his calling. That journey eventually led him to Rockport, Texas, where he found his true home on the flats.
Today, Tyler guides anglers along the Texas coast in pursuit of redfish, black drum, and other shallow-water species on fly. Whether clients are experienced fly anglers looking to refine their skills or someone making their very first cast, his goal is to provide an unforgettable day on the water. Beyond catching fish, he hopes every trip leaves his clients with a deeper appreciation for the incredible fishery and wild places that make the Texas coast so special. Tyler looks forward to sharing his home waters and helping create memories that will last a lifetime.

Dane Scott is one of three co-founders of Tail End Outfitters and has spent years guiding anglers across the Texas coast. A lifelong fly fisherman, he has dedicated his career to understanding the intricate rhythms of the coastal ecosystem and sharing that knowledge with his clients.
Over the years, Dane has fished and guided in some of the world’s most celebrated saltwater destinations. Despite traveling far and wide, he remains convinced that the waters surrounding Rockport offer one of the finest saltwater fly fishing experiences anywhere. As a full-time resident and guide, he spends the majority of his days on the water, constantly refining his approach and staying intimately connected to the fishery.
For Dane, guiding is about more than catching fish. It’s about creating meaningful experiences, building confidence, and helping clients develop a deeper appreciation for the resource. His passion for the outdoors and commitment to excellence ensure that every day on the skiff is both productive and memorable.
